		WOMEN'S GROUPS



	Shepherd Women's group is open to all women and teen gals attending Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, and their friends. Gatherings are on the first Tuesdays of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a light supper, short meeting at 7:00 p.m. followed by Bible Study, programs, crafts, guest speakers, and fellowship. Shepherd Women support three community outreach projects: Community Outreach Ministries Endeavor (C.O.M.E.), reaches out to feed and clothe the needy in San Jose. The box to drop off clothes, shoes, food, and small household items is located in the Parish Hall and available all year; American Red Cross (January), provides personal hygiene items, devotional books, and snacks to our military overseas; Community Pregnancy Centers (May), provides baby items and Christian support to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Shepherd Women participate in church-wide ministries: Sunday School Pre-school Church Council Music: Choir, Chimes, Worship Team, Organists Altar Care and Flowers Bible Studies and Prayer Groups Care and Concern Nursery Library Sewing Fellowship Shepherd Women is part of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) through Zone (San Jose, Morgan Hill, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale), District (California-Nevada-Hawaii), and National levels. All are encouraged to participate in its events (retreats, rallies, conventions) throughout the year for personal spiritual growth, a richer prayer life, retreating into the Word of God, and enjoying fellowship with other Christian sisters. Shepherd Women give monetarily through mites (loose change) for on-going District and National Mission Projects. Drop your change in the the large wooden mite box in the narthex, or take a smaller one to put on your dresser at home, and bring it back full! Shepherd Women / LWML focuses on ... 	GIRLS NIGHT OUT - fun filled events scheduled usually on a monthly basis designed to foster female comraderie. Events are scheduled and announced through the weekly bulletins.
